Cleanup

Look at this place. This is a street with a public school, which would serve as a polling place on May 10, 2010, the day when Filipino people will go out and vote, making an individual stand that would collectively determine the future of the Republic of the Philippines.

Going back, notice how dirty the place is? It’s filled with posters pasted on walls, tarpaulins hung even on the lines of electricity. The once clean place is filled with unnecessary posters, with faces of candidates, perhaps photoshopped at its best. I honestly don’t see the need for these flyers – do they speak of platforms? How will we know that behind the face of the candidate printed on paper is sincere about our country? Perhaps, to be remembered.

Reminiscing Street Food

I would always remember my highschool days, that students, including me, would flock over our school’s most popular fishball cart and have our afternoon snack there. Nothing beats fishballs, kikiam, squidballs, and even fried hotdog slices . I just love it when I make tusok tusok ( haha! ) or rather use a stick to get my fishballs from the frying pan, putting it in my mini paper plate, getting some really yummy sauce , and eating the afternoon away, further stalling from doing my homework. ( I think I loved the vinegar concoction so much before that I ate in a plastic cup filled with so much sauce! ) . Those were really happy days, that make up a good childhood.

Fast forward to the present age, I don’t really eat there anymore.

Besides not being able to chance upon them, it’s because when my dad was parked in front of a fishball cart waiting for my sister, he saw people eating their fishballs for merienda, and to his horror, some of them just kept on dipping their sticks of fishball in the sauce jar, ate ( say bite! ) , and dipped them again! Such an unforgettable memory that my dad asked us to avoid getting fishballs from the outdoors again.

With Havaianas finding a very worthy competitor in Ipanema, one can only compare the brands, and see which brand is more “them.”

KFC Creamy Tomato Pasta Bowl – Coz I Love It Creamy!

When my fickle baby sister would ask for carbonara sauce when the dish of the night is spaghetti in red sauce, I would sometimes mix both and enjoy the delightful tomato sauce, with added creaminess of the white sauce. I just love that certain combination, even if I found it weird. Haha!

Good thing that KFC has a new pasta in their menu, called the Creamy Tomato Pasta Bowl.

Finding the Perfect Stella Luna Flats

Make Yourself A Luxury Brand – why don’t I? I dream every night of that. Haha! I have two boxes of the same “wise” saying already. Maybe it’s a sign?

Shoes, shoes, shoes.

I must admit that shoes are something that I am very much smitten with, that I don’t mind spending extra for that fabulous pair.

Last December, I accidentally left my favorite Melissa pointed flats at my aunt’s house in Hong Kong during my vacation, so I felt that it was time for a new pair for the New Year. Being reminded by J on how fabulously comfortable Stella Luna flats were, I decided to stroll in Stella Luna, bent on getting a new pair myself.
